Ready for the manufacturing industry: DACHSER Singapore at ITAP
Under the motto “Digitally connected, operationally excellent”, DACHSER Singapore presented itself with an eye-catching booth at Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific (ITAP) exhibition from October 16-18, 2018. The industrial exhibition gave DACHSER an ideal platform to address the Singaporean business community.
A tour over the expo area clearly showed that Industry 4.0 has been transforming the manufacturing industry and became a new normal in many companies. Numerous exhibitors showcased the use of automation and robotics in Smart Manufacturing. Visitors could witness, for example, how components and machines communicate autonomously to create customized articles, like a pen with an engraving, upon online order.
While robots served freshly brewed coffee, exhibitors made clear that it is still human beings who design production processes and technologies. Interconnected machines help to handle routine tasks to increase efficiency. At the same time, people’s job profile is redefined to improve processes and provide individual service.
Singapore Exhibition and Convention Center
The Singapore team showed how DACHSER transfers these developments to logistics. The logistics provider is digitally ready to serve worldwide supply chains of the manufacturing industry. In-house developed IT systems connect the logistics provider’s extensive global network where all branches operate based upon clearly defined process standards. Customers are given the transparency they need for their worldwide supply chains and the personal service of the DACHSER team.
The event, which was organized by Hannover Messe and Singapore EXPO pioneered in Asia at the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Center.
